Yes. This course provides firearm safety education, instructor guidance, and live-fire qualification support for students preparing to apply for a Rhode Island concealed carry license or permit.
Students must qualify with a pistol or revolver of a caliber equal to or larger than the one they intend to carry. The qualification consists of 30 consecutive rounds fired at 25 yards on the army “L” target.
Students must fire a score of 195 or better out of a possible 300. This score is completed using 30 consecutive rounds.
Yes. Live-fire qualification is included and conducted under instructor supervision in a safety-focused training environment.
The Rhode Island qualification uses the army “L” target. Students complete the course of fire at a distance of 25 yards.
The slow-fire course includes three 10-shot strings. Students are allowed 10 minutes to fire each 10-shot string.
